I can remember rolling into the paddock at New Hampshire Motor Speedway for my initial BMW club driving event and feeling quite intimidated by the circus around me.
One of the reasons I bought my 1978 Datsun 280Z was because I was looking for a platform that was light, had strong aftermarket support, and was light-years away from the brand new cars I drive every day as an automotive journalist.
