It’s a busy schedule for me starting Monday, as I head to West Virginia to drive the 2015 Ford Expedition with its new EcoBoost engine, along with the 2015 Ford F-Series Super Duty range of pickups. From there I pack up and make a mid-week move across the country to Portland, Oregon where I’ll become acquainted with the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat – the new 707 horsepower muscle car behemoth that will be joined by its slightly more reasonable SRT 392 and R/T stable mates.
I’m very curious to see how the Hellcat handles on the track, especially after having just driven the Shaker edition of the current Challenger on the drag strip. Speaking of the 1320, I also had the chance to pilot the 2015 Jaguar XKR-S down the quarter mile this past week, where its 550 horsepower bested the Shaker’s time by more than a full second. I managed a 12.8 @ 119 mph, which indicates there’s about a half-second or so waiting to be unlocked in the car’s ET if it could only find more traction.
