When’s the last time you thought a minivan was ‘cool?’ Chances are, unless you’re a classic Mopar turbo fanatic or a normcore purist, the answer to that question is ‘never.’

Across the Pacific, however, there’s an entire culture of minivans-as-luxury-rides that has persisted on the streets of both Seoul and Tokyo for decades. The latest iteration of this phenomenon, the Kia Carnival, is aimed at convincing North Americans that maybe SUVs aren’t your only choice for decadent, effortless comfort in a practical package.
