What It’s Like Owning A Chevrolet K5 Blazer: The Unvarnished Truth

As anyone who followed my series on LS-swapping my Jeep Grand Wagoneer has already heard me say, owning a classic SUV isn’t always blue skies and cupcakes. Few are as familiar with the slings and arrows of bringing an ’80s truck back from a near-death experience like my friend Kyle Cheromcha, Editor-In-Chief at The Drive, and custodian of a 1988 Chevrolet K5 Blazer that has been in the family since it was new.

I spoke to Kyle in this feature for Inside Hook, and he went deep into the darkness of how a simple project can quickly spiral out of bounds, forcing a vehicle owner to make tough decisions—and rely on more than a little luck—when figuring out what to do next. Few people have loved a truck as much as Kyle loves his Blazer, and that passion really came through in our conversation, which you can find here.
