Dead Air Radio: 90s Movie Themes Edition

Dead Air Radio’s regular broadcast day just happened to fall on January 1st this year, and I wanted to put together something out of the ordinary to ring in 2025 on the CIDI 99.1 FM airwaves

I’ve been a huge fan of movie scores my entire life, probably dating back to my childhood obsession with Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan, which has an absolutely amazing score from James Horner. It also ties in to the classical music that I grew up listening to and playing as a pianist from the age of eight. Movie music continues to form a large part of what I listen to on a regular basis, especially since my brain can’t handle anything with lyrics while I am writing (which is how I spend most of my day).

The 1990s are full of amazing scores, and some of my favorites are from movies I actually haven’t even seen but have been exposed to thanks to online streaming radio. Stream the show below (or click here) for an hour filled with some of the best work from Cliff Eidelman, Basil Pouledouris, Alan Silvestri, John Barry, James Horner (of course) and others.
